Ryan Kemrite has been named to the Big South’s 2nd team all-conference, as announced by the league today. He was also voted to the conference’s All-Academic Team.

The redshirt-junior from Conroe, Texas leads the Flames in scoring, minutes per game, and 3 point shooting. His average of 13.6 points per game is up significantly from his career average of 6.5 points per game entering this season. His play helped lead the team to a 3rd place finish with a 14-4 mark in Big South play, the 14 conference wins are a school record.

Kemrite is the first Liberty men’s basketball player to be named to either the 1st or 2nd all-conference team since 2012 when Jesse Sanders was named first team all-conference.

He was joined on the 2nd team by Gardner-Webb’s LaQuincy Rideau and Tyrell Nelson, High Point’s Miles Bowman, Jr., and Longwood’s Khris Lane. The first-team was comprised of Winthrop’s Keon Johnson (Player of the Year) and Xavier Cooks, UNC Asheville’s Ahmad Thomas and MaCio Teague, and Campbell’s Chris Clemons.

John Dawson was also named Honorable Mention All-Conference for the 2nd consecutive season. Georgie Pacheco-Ortiz and Myo Baxter-Bell were both voted to the league’s All-Freshman Team. Liberty begins its quest for a Big South Tournament Championship on Thursday against Radford.
