    This week: BYE

Charleston Southern had the week off.

  2. (2) Liberty 3-3, 1-0
This week: Liberty 36 Kennesaw State 21

QB Stephen Calvert threw for 211 yards and 1 touchdown in his first road start as the Flames ended Kennesaw’s 4-game win streak this weekend. Freshman K Alex Probert accounted for two 47 yarders and a 50 yarder to aid in the victory. Liberty’s size and speed was too much for the Owls. This was also just the 2nd game this season that the Flames managed over 100 rushing yards.

Next up: Saturday vs. Monmouth, 3:30pm

  3. (3) Kennesaw State 4-2, 0-1
This week: Liberty 36 Kennesaw State 21

There seemed to be a lot of chatter surrounding this game, but Kennesaw State couldn’t quite live up to the hype. Two reasons behind this were special teams and redzone efficiency  The Owls allowed a 99-yard kickoff return, missed a chip-shot field goal, and scored just 1 time on 4 redzone trips. Even in the loss, Kennesaw produced 472 total yards of offense. Why they are young, the Owls are poised to sit atop the Big South in no time.

  4. (5) Gardner-Webb 3-4, 1-0
    This week: Coastal Carolina 17 Gardner-Webb 7

Gardner-Webb hosted former Big South rival Coastal Carolina on Saturday. The game was relatively slow going into halftime as the Runnin’ Bulldogs surprisingly led 7-3. They held off CCU until the 4th quarter when the Chants managed 2 scores. QB Tyrell Maxwell accounted for the majority of their offense for the day throwing for 128 yards, 1 touchdown, and rushed for 24 more.

  5. (4) Monmouth 4-3, 0-2
This week: Monmouth 13 Presbyterian 17

After an impressive start to the year, Monmouth let what looked to be an easy game get away from them Thursday night. RB Lavon Chaney serves as the highlight of the night as he accounted for their 2 TDs on the game along with 154 rushing yards. Unless something crazy happens, this loss ends Monmouth’s playoff hopes.

Next up: Saturday @ Liberty, 3:30pm

  6. (6) Presbyterian 2-4, 1-1
This week:  Monmouth 13 Presbyterian 17

Presbyterian pulled off the Thursday night upset against Monmouth this week. This win was a result of solid QB play from Ben Cheek and John Walker who accounted 258 yards and 2 TDs together. The game came down to a defensive stand by the Blue Hose who kept the Hawks out of the endzone. Even with the win, Presbyterian still isn’t exactly the cream of the crop in the Big South. No doubt the short week made way for this upset.
