After splitting the two-game road swing to Louisiana-Monroe and North Texas, the Liberty Flames are 6-2 with four regular-season games remaining. We have exactly one-fourth of the season left in the 2021 campaign. With the six wins, Liberty has become bowl eligible for a third straight season.

So, where does Liberty end up when it is all said and done?

Let’s look at the remaining schedule.

10/30: vs UMass – After a road trip the Flames finally return home to take on the UMass Minutemen. A team that is just 1-6 on the season and 2-21 in three seasons under head coach Walt Bell. Liberty is a 36 point favorite and will be looking to get some confidence back after two subpar performances the past two weeks. The Flames defeated UMass, 45-0, on Black Friday 2020 in Lynchburg.

11/6: at No. 10 Ole Miss – All eyes will be on Hugh Freeze’s return to Oxford and the much anticipated matchup of quarterbacks Malik Willis and Matt Corral. The Rebels are 6-1 on the season ahead of their trip to No. 18 Auburn this week. This won’t be a game the SEC team coached by Lane Kiffin will overlook the non-conference opponent, not with Freeze coming back to town, and this Ole Miss team is probably as good as any Rebels team since Freeze was their head coach.

11/20: vs Louisiana – The bye week will be much needed when Liberty gets to it following the Ole Miss trip. It comes after 10 weeks to open the season, including six road trips. The Flames are already tired and a little banged up and that’s before these next two games.

Following the bye, a very good Sun Belt team pays a visit to Lynchburg. Louisiana is currently 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The Ragin’ Cajuns are one of only two Group of Five teams that have beaten a Hugh Freeze coached Liberty team, as they spanked the Flames, 35-14, in Freeze’s second game as Liberty’s head coach. Billy Napier’s squad is every bit as good this year as they were in 2019 with their only loss coming in the season opener at Texas. Games against Texas State, Georgia State, and Troy precede their trip to Liberty.

11/27: vs Army – In the regular season finale, Liberty plays host to Army for the first time ever, a rematch from the 2018 Black Knights win over the Flames in West Point. Army is currently 4-3 on the season, dropping three straight to Miami (OH), Wisconsin, and Wake Forest. The Black Knights scored 56 points against the Demon Deacons in the loss where the undefeated ACC team put up 70. Army will look to get back on track following a bye week when they face Air Force on Nov. 6. The Black Knights also have home games against Bucknell and UMass before making the trip to Lynchburg.

So, what do you think Liberty’s regular season record will be?
