What You Need to Know: Gardner-Webb

Liberty is back on the road to take on the Runnin’ Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb. What you need to know:

• Gardner-Webb is 5-5 in conference play and 13-11 overall.
• The Runnin’ Bulldogs are 3-1 at home in conference and 10-2 overall at home this season.
• Gardner-Webb is coming off a road loss to Presbyterian 57-54 on Wednesday.
• Liberty leads the all-time series 7-3,  and the Flames won the only meeting a year ago 63-58 in the Vines Center.
• Gardner-Webb beat Big East member Depaul earlier this season 71-59.
• The Runnin’ Bulldogs have improved their total number of wins each season under 3rd year head coach Chris Holtmann. Gardner-Webb won 11 games in Holtmann’s first season in 2010-11, and 12 games last season.
• Gardner-Webb leads the Big South in scoring defense at 60.7 points per game.
• Senior guard Tashan Newsome leads Gardner-Webb in scoring at 14.6 points per game, and he has scored 22 or more points in 3 consecutive games.
• Sophomore forward Donta Harper is 2nd on the team in scoring (12.7).
• Senior forward Kevin Hartley leads the team in rebouding at 6.3 per game and also chips in 8.7 points per game.
• Sophomore guard Tyler Strange leads the Runnin’ Bulldogs in assists per game at 4.
• The Flames are seeking their 1st Big South Conference road victory of the season.
