Rough opening as the Liberty Flames fall to the Richmond Spiders 84-42. What we learned against Richmond:
- We are a work in progress with 8 players on the roster that did not play last season
- JR Coronado has the potential to provide a post presence LU has lacked recently
- Davon Marshall and Jarred Jourdan have the potential to be double digit scorers nightly
- Marshall has a sweet stroke from downtown
- We desperately miss Antwan Burrus, Joel VanderPol, and Tomasz Gielo (all injured)
- JC Sanders and Tavares Speaks have to do better than 1-14 shooting and 7 turnovers
- Our top 4 scorers were all newcomers (Marshall, Jourdan, Donley and Coronado)
- At least our new uniforms look nice
Liberty will look to rebound in the home opener against William & Mary Monday night.
