With the additions of Kentucky offensive lineman transfer Naasir Watkins and Auburn defensive lineman transfer Dre Butler, it is time to take a fresh look at Liberty’s scholarship situation for next season. Liberty had 17 players sign in December, and has had five more players from the portal commit to the Flames. Liberty has also lost seven scholarship players to the portal since September 1st.
Taking all of that into account, Liberty’s current scholarshsip count for next season is 85 (see list below). That means the Flames are actually full for 2022 unless there have been players on the below list that have been removed from scholarship.
That is where things currently stand. Of course, things are always fluid. More players could elect to enter the portal at any time. After spring ball is a time when there could be another influx of players into the portal across the country, including at Liberty potentially.
