No. 21 Liberty had a surprising end of season bye week following an increase in positive COVID-19 cases within the football program, forcing the team to shut down football activities. As a result, the Flames’ regular season finale, scheduled this past Saturday at No. 14 Coastal Carolina with College GameDay scheduled to broadcast on site prior to the game, was canceled.

Liberty moved up from No. 25 in both the Coaches and Associated Press Top 25 polls to No. 21 and 22, respectively. The Flames now wait for a potential bowl invitation and here’s a look at what bowl game Liberty is being projected into by various publications.

The Flames are looking to return to a bowl game for the second straight season after Hugh Freeze led the program to its first ever bowl appearance a season ago when Liberty defeated Georgia Southern in the Cure Bowl.
