This past athletic season, Liberty saw nine of its 20 NCAA Division I teams win their respective conference championship. Four others finished as the runner-up while still others were in the top four. It continues a very successful run of success across virtually all of the teams on the Mountain.
Western Kentucky won the 2025 CUSA Baseball Tournament for its first baseball championship in 16 years. That stat got me thinking, when was the last time each Liberty team won a conference championship. So, here is a list of the last conference title for all 20 of Liberty’s NCAA Division I teams.

Never won Division I conference championship. The Lady Flames have advanced to the conference championship final match four times – 2016, 2018, 2022, 2024 – but have never gotten over the hump to win a conference title.
Impressively, 14 of the 20 teams have won a conference championship during the past two athletic seasons. Two others have won it if you go back three seasons. Add in baseball, who won the ASUN in 2019, and that leaves only three programs that haven’t won a conference championship in very recent history.
