On Thursday afternoon, the Southern Conference elected to “not have fall conference competition due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for nonconference contests if desired.”

Liberty is scheduled to face SoCon member Western Carolina on Nov. 14. Early indications are that the Catamounts will still attempt to play that game

Including the Western Carolina game, the Flames have 8 games scheduled for the 2020 season with current hopes that the team is able to play as many as 10 games. Liberty still anticipates opening the season on Sept. 12. No current game is scheduled for that date as the Flames were originally to face North Carolina A&T as the home opener.
