Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay and guards Cooper Campbell and Zander Carter met with the media on Tuesday as the Flames have opened practice this week in full preparation for the 2026-27 season. The Flames are coming off a 26-8 season and 17-3 mark in conference play, as the team won the regular season title for a second straight year before advancing to the NIT. The Flames open the season on Nov. 2 against High Point in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
