Here’s how former Liberty players Demario Douglas and Malik Willis have fared through the first three weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
WR DEMARIO DOUGLAS
This week: Jacksonville 35, New England 6
Douglas caught one pass for 38 yards on five targets in New England’s Week 3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 38-yard reception was his longest play of the season and accounted for more than half of his receiving yards through three games. Douglas has now caught seven passes for 67 yards on the season.
Douglas has seen his opportunities fluctuate early in the season. He caught five passes for 20 yards on seven targets in the season opener before recording just one reception for nine yards against Pittsburgh in Week 2.
The former Liberty standout could have an opportunity for a larger role moving forward with A.J. Brown sidelined. Brown, who suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season opener, is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Through three games, however, Douglas has yet to find the end zone.
2026 stats: 7 receptions, 67 yards, 9.6 yards per reception, 0 TD

QB MALIK WILLIS
This week: Kansas City 24, Miami 10
Willis started his third consecutive game for Miami but struggled to generate much offense in the Dolphins’ 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The former Liberty quarterback completed 20 of 36 passes for 210 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed nine times for 56 yards.
Through three games, Willis has completed 49 of 86 passes for 627 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He has also rushed 17 times for 101 yards and one touchdown. Willis has topped 190 passing yards in each of his three starts, but Miami is still searching for its first win of the season. The Dolphins are 0-3 after losses to Las Vegas, San Francisco and Kansas City.
The Week 3 performance also marked the first game this season in which Willis did not throw a touchdown or record a rushing touchdown. He did lose a fumble against Kansas City. Still, Willis has established himself as Miami’s starting quarterback through the first three weeks after signing with the Dolphins during the offseason.
2026 stats: 49-of-86 passing, 627 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT; 17 carries, 101 yards, 1 TD
