Gill gets 10th commitment
The Flames picked up their 10th commitment Wednesday night when DB Jimmy Faulks, Jr gave his verbal pledge to Coach Gill. Faulks was part of the winning 7-on-7 team from a camp at Liberty in July.

Update on other football commits
A few of Liberty’s commits have begun their senior season and we’ve been able to track down some statistics from their opening games. Stephen Calvert threw for 2 touchdowns while leading his team to a big win. Calvert’s Carol City High team played in their 2nd game of the season Thursday night as he again threw for 2 touchdowns. Rud Yearick threw for 164 yards and 1 touchdown while rushing for 85 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 40-3 win. Brandon Tillmon, who will likely play safety at Liberty, was 14-of-19 passing for 208 yards and a touchdown and 55 yards rushing while playing quarterback. We will continue to bring updates on each of Liberty’s football commits throughout their senior seasons as we are able to find the information.

Full MBB Schedule Released
Coach McKay released the nonconference portion of his 2015-16 season earlier this summer, and just this week we’ve learned the conference schedule and who the Flames will be playing as part of the Challenge in Music City. For the full 2015-16 men’s basketball schedule click here.

Robin Jorch signs with Boise State
Robin Jorch had originally committed to play his college basketball at Liberty under former head coach Dale Layer. After the coaching change, Jorch has landed with Boise State. The 6’10” German signed with the Broncos this week.

Other sports
Other sports have begun for the fall season. The first two matchups were played by the women’s soccer team, who lost to Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside to open their season. There will also be a full slate of contests this weekend including women’s soccer, field hockey, volleyball, and men’s soccer.

FlameFans thread of the week
Chris Lang of the News & Advance has announced he is leaving the paper and the Liberty beat. We’ve been discussing this in this week’s FlameFans thread of the week, Say it Ain’t So, Scribe!
