ESPN announced Tuesday that Liberty’s season opener at Western Kentucky on Saturday, Sept. 19th will be televised on ESPNU. The kick time has been set for 12:00 p.m. EST.

The game will be played at Houchens Industries – L. T. Smith Stadium at Jimmy Feix Field in Bowling Green Kentucky. It will be the third ever meeting between the two programs but first as FBS members. Liberty owns a 2-0 series advantage over the Hilltoppers, with a 23-14 win in Bowling Green on Oct. 19, 1996 and a win in Lynchburg, 49-36, on Nov. 18, 1995.

Western Kentucky is scheduled to open the season on Sept. 12 at Louisville. The Flames played on ESPNU last season in a 31-24 loss at BYU on Nov. 9.
