Just prior to the 2019 season, Liberty announced an agreement with ESPN Events for a new secondary bowl agreement beginning with the 2020 season. This replaces the secondary bowl agreement the Flames had with the Cure Bowl the past two seasons.

Provided there is a bowl season this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, here are Liberty’s secondary bowl agreements, location, last year’s matchup, and the primary tie-in for those bowls:

Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl

FAU Stadium, Boca Raton, Florida
American/C-USA/MAC
2019-20 result: Florida Atlantic 52, SMU 28

Camellia Bowl

Cramton Bowl, Montgomery, Alabama
MAC vs Sun Belt
2019-20 result: Arkansas State 34, FIU 26

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

Albertsons Stadium, Boise, Idaho
MAC vs MWC
2019-20 result: Ohio 30, Nevada 21

Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl

Toyota Stadium, Frisco, Texas
American/C-USA/MAC/MWC
2019-20 result: Kent State 51, Utah State 41

Myrtle Beach Bowl

Brooks Stadium, Conway, South Carolina
American/MAC/Sun Belt
2019-20 result: 2020-21 will be first time played

New Mexico Bowl

Dreamstyle Stadium, Albuquerque, New Mexico
American/C-USA/MWC
2019-20 result: San Diego State 48, Central Michigan 11

Similar to the agreement with the Cure Bowl, if the conferences affiliated with these bowl games do not have enough deserving teams, defined as meeting the six qualifying win threshold, the secondary bowl agreement allows ESPN Events and its bowl game partners to place a bowl eligible Liberty team.
