The Liberty Flames and Georgia Southern Eagles are preparing for the big clash in the Cure Bowl on Saturday, December 21st from Orlando, Florida.

Both teams sport identical 7-5 records and have fared similarly against common opponents. Georgia Southern has the best win among the two programs, as they are the only team to beat 12-1 Appalachian State this season. The Mountaineers are currently ranked #30 in ESPN’s FPI. Liberty’s best win came against the #83 FPI team, Buffalo.

The rest of Georgia Southern’s wins came against FCS Maine, #125 New Mexico State, #122 South Alabama in double overtime, #114 Coastal Carolina in triple overtime,  #111 UL Monroe, and #110 Georgia State.

The rest of Liberty’s wins came against FCS teams Hampton and Maine, #130 UMass, #125 New Mexico State twice, and #121 New Mexico.

The Eagles worst loss was to FPI #99 Troy, 49-28, while the Flames’ worst loss was to #118 Rutgers.
