Liberty and the University of Toledo have a signed contract for a football game to played at UT’s Glass Bowl on September 7, 2019, ASeaofRed.com has learned.

A copy of the contract was obtained earlier today from the University of Toledo via a public records request. The contract was signed in late 2016 before Liberty announced its move to the FBS ranks as an Independent this past February.

According to a copy of the contract, Liberty would receive a guarantee of $325,000.

When asked for a comment on the potential game, Liberty Athletic Director Ian McCaw stated, it was “still under discussion at this time.” Liberty has previously announced 8 dates and 9 games for the 2019 football schedule and 9/7 is still available based on the dates released.

Toledo is a member of the MAC where they went 6-2 in conference play and 9-4 overall in 2016. The Rockets lost to Appalachian State in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl on December 17th.

Liberty and Toledo have met on the gridiron twice previously, in 2003 and 2007, with the Rockets winning both previous matchups.
