Liberty completed a three game series sweep over UTEP, a second straight CUSA series sweep for the Lady Flames. Liberty has now won seven straight games to improve to 14-15 on the season and 7-2 CUSA play. The Flames are now 10-1 all-time against UTEP in softball. The Lady Flames hit nine homers this weekend and 11 different active players now have at least one c areer homer. The 28 runs scored this weekend were Liberty’s most in a three game conference series during the program’s time in Conference USA. The Flames have scored eight or more runs in each of the last seven games, the longest such streak in program history.

THURSDAY: LIBERTY 8, UTEP 1 (6 innings)

Liberty scored four times in the top of the second to take command of their series opener at UTEP on Thursday night. The Lady Flames got RBI hits from Brooke Roberts, Savanah Whatley, and Ella Fox in the crucial frame. The Miners got on the board with a homer by Iliana Munoz in the bottom of the third. However, that was all the scoring UTEP could muster as Liberty pulled away for the win. Savannah Nash hit a two-run homer in the fifth, before Liberty added two more in the 6th.

Gabby Mike earned the win, tossing four innings of one hit relief during which she walked one and fanned one. Starter Danner Allen allowed one run on three hits, walking three and striking out four.

Savannah Nash went 2 for 2 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored, while Whatley was 2 for 4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Ella Fox was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI while Savannah Jessee batted 2 for 3. Dani Lee recorded a pinch hit home runs, her first career. Lee became the first Liberty player with a pinch-hit home run since Sierra Kersten at New Mexico State on May 10, 2024.

FRIDAY: LIBERTY 9, UTEP 1 (6 innings)

Liberty hit a season high four home runs in a second straight run rule win over UTEP. The Flames broke the game open in the top of the fifth inning. Leading 3-0, Paige Doerr hit a three-run blast to double the lead. One pitch later, Maci Strickland launched a solo homer.

Camden Anders earned the win, allowing one run on three hits, walking three and striking out four in 4.1 innings. Gabby Mike pitched 1.2 innings of one hit relief.

Brynn McManus was 2 for 3 with a home run while Maci Strickland was 2 f or 3 with a homer. Ella Fox batted 2 for 4. Aubrey Fulcher hit a pinch hit home run, her first career homer.

SATURDAY: LIBERTY  11, UTEP 3

The Flames struck first with four runs in the first two innings, staking a 4-0 lead. After the Miners got on the board with one run in the second, the Flames extended the lead to 6-1 with a pair of runs in the third. After UTEP scored twice in the third inning to cut their deficit to 3, Liberty scored five unanswered runs to pull away for the victory and the sweep.

Camden Anders earned the win, allowing three hits and striking out three in four innings of relief. Liberty starter Abigail Findlay pitched one inning, followed by two frames from Gabby Mike and then the four by Anders.

Mach Strickland batted 3 for 5 with a double. Alexia Carrasquillo went 2 for 4 with a homer, two RBI and a run scored. Ella Fox was 2 for 5 with a double and two runs scored. Savannah Jessee batted 2 for 2 with a homer. Savannah Whatley homered and Brynn McManus drove in three runs.
