Liberty baseball has announced its full 2023 baseball schedule as the Flames will look to return to the NCAA Tournament for a fourth straight season.

The Flames will open the year away from home for the first seven games, beginning at Southern Miss, Feb. 17-19 for an opening three-game series. The Golden Eagles hosted Ole Miss in the Super Regionals last year and finished the season with a 47-19 record. Liberty will then play at Duke in a midweek contest in Durham on Feb. 22 and conclude the opening road swing with a three game series at Winthrop.

The home slate begins on March 1 when Liberty plays host to in-state foe Longwood before a three-game home series against Bryant March 3-5. The five game home stand concludes on March 7 when VCU travels from Richmond to Liberty Baseball Stadium.

Liberty will then play at East Carolina for a three-game series March 10-12. The Pirates finished last year with a 46-21 overall record and hosted Texas in a Super Regional. Other notable non-conference matchups include a home and home series against Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Old Dominion.

The team’s final season in the ASUN Conference begins with a three game set at FGCU March 17-19. The Flames will play their first conference home series the following weekend against ASUN newcomer Austin Peay March 24-26. A rematch from the 2022 ASUN Championship game against Kennesaw State will take play in Kennesaw, Georgia April 14-16.

Under 7th year head coach Scott Jackson, Liberty baseball is coming off a second straight season receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals after falling to Kennesaw State, 10-6, in the ASUN final.
