On Monday, Liberty picked up a commitment that is sending shock waves throughout the recruiting landscape. The Flames received a commitment from their highest rated recruit in school history, Khristian Zachary.

Zachary is a 3-star rated recruit from Carrollton, Georgia where he attends Carrollton High School. The 6’3″, 250 pound defensive end has a .8849 rating by 247Sports which is the highest in Liberty’s history. He’s ranked as the 28th best recruit at his position and 31st best in Georgia, according to 247Sports.

ESPN ranks Zachary as a 4-star rated prospect and a member of their top 300 recruits nationally, checking in at No. 279.

Zachary had offers from Alabama, Appalachian State, Arizona State, Boston College, Coastal Carolina, Colorado, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Temple, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech.

Zachary is the 19th verbal commitment in Liberty’s class of 2021. He joins defensive end Miguel Jackson and defensive tackle Christopher Boti as early commitments on the defensive line.
