Liberty quarterback Malik Willis has accepted an invitation to play in the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl, as announced on Sunday.

The Senior Bowl is the most prestigious postseason All-Star event that football has, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for seniors to raise their draft stock significantly. It annually features the country’s best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that are coached by entire coaching staffs of two NFL teams.

Willis is the sixth player in Liberty school history to receive an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He joins Wayne Haddix (DB, 1997), Eric Green (TE, 1990), Rashad Jennings (RB, 2009), Walt Aikens (DB, 2014), and Antonio Gandy-Golden (2020).

The game will be played at Hancock Whitney Stadium at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama on February 5, 2022. It will be televised on the NFL Network at 2:30 p.m. EST.

Willis has been projected by many to be a first round NFL Draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft for most of the past year. This season, Willis has completed 194 of 315 passing attempts (61.6%) for 2,626 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also has 189 rushing attempts for a team-high 820 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 35 touchdowns responsible for on the season breaks his own single-season school record which was set in 2020 with 34.
