College Football News released their updated rankings and projected records of all FBS teams expected to play this fall. CFN has Liberty pegged to finish with a record of 5-5 and ranked as the No. 68 team in the preseason.

The Flames recently released a revised 2020 10-game schedule set to kickoff on Sept. 19 at Western Kentucky at noon eastern.

Five wins would be enough for Liberty to become bowl eligible this season while playing only 10 games. A minimum of a .500 mark and up to two wins over FCS opponents count towards bowl eligibility this season.

Hugh Freeze enters his second season with Liberty and hopes to get his team back to a second straight bowl game after the Flames went 8-5 and defeated Georgia Southern in the 2019 Cure Bowl.

Earlier this week, Liberty announced Williams Stadium will begin the season with a capacity of 1,000. The Flames’ home slate begins Sept. 26 against Florida International.
