Liberty has won 8 games in a season for the fourth straight year following the Flames’ win over Arkansas, 21-19, on Saturday evening in Fayetteville. With the win, Liberty is now 8-1 on the campaign, having won at least 8 games in all four seasons under head coach Hugh Freeze.

Following the win, Liberty has moved up in both the Coaches and Associated Press Top 25 polls this week, as the Flames currently sit at No. 19 both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll, marking the highest regular season ranking for Liberty in either poll.

This marks the highest Liberty has ever been ranked in these two polls during the regular season, besting a ranking of 21 in both pools during the 2020 regular season. The Flames were ranked No. 17 in the AP and No. 18 in the Coaches polls following the conclusion of the 2020 season.

In the AP Top 25, the Flames are ranked No. 19 with 358 points. This is up from last week when Liberty was ranked No. 23 with 136 points.

In the Coaches Poll, Liberty is ranked No. 19 and received 366 points. This is up from last week when the Flames were No. 23 with 147 points.

Coming off the program’s first ever win over an SEC program, the Flames will head to the northeast to take on the UConn Huskies this coming Saturday. UConn is currently 5-5 on the season and need just one more win for bowl eligibility. Their losses have come against Syracuse, Michigan, NC State, Utah State, and Ball State. UConn defeated UMass, 27-10, this past Friday night. Saturday’s game is scheduled to kick off at Noon and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
