Liberty has hired former Fox Sports reporter Emily Austen to the TV show, “Game On,” as a sports anchor and reporter.

The announcement came late Wednesday evening, and it comes three years after Austen was fired following comments she made on a Barstool Sports Broadcast.

Austen took to the faith-based Sports Spectrum website to announce the move. In the article, she describes her fall and journey where she battled “severe anxiety, a dark depression and overwhelming regret.”

“I learned that words are extremely powerful,” Austen stated in the article. “I realize that I hurt and offended countless people with my comments. For that, I am forever sorry and remorseful.”

In the three years since being fired by Fox Sports, she has used her story on The Power of Social Media to become a public speaker, travelling around the country and sharing what has happened to her to various audiences from the University of Alabama to Vandegrift High School.

“I am so thankful that God gave me the platform, the strength and the courage to be vulnerable enough to share my story with others. Thankfully, my new employer is allowing me to continue my passion of public speaking in my new role.”
