The fall sports athletic calendar is underway with several Liberty teams in action. We will provide weekly updates on all of Liberty’s NCAA Division I teams competing this fall.

CROSS COUNTRY

The men’s and women’s cross country team swill get their season underway when competing in the Liberty Challenge Thursday, Sept. 1 with the women’s race beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the men following.

FIELD HOCKEY (2-0)

Last year’s national runner-up opened the season in impressive fashion with a pair of wins in Bloomington, Indiana. The Lady Flames started with a 9-0 win against Kent State on Saturday and followed that up with a 2-0 shutout win at Indiana on Sunday. Liberty is back in action this weekend with their home opener on Sunday at 1 p.m. against William & Mary in a match that will be carried on ESPN+.

WOMEN’S SOCCER (2-1-1)

The women’s soccer team dropped their first contest of the season in a 1-0 setback last Thursday at UNC Greensboro. The Lady Flames bounced back with a 3-0 win over Campbell at home on Sunday. Liberty plays host to Marshall Thursday at 6 p.m. before traveling in-state to face the Richmond Spiders on Sunday at 3 p.m.

MEN’S SOCCER (1-0-1)

The men’s soccer team opened the year with a 3-0 shutout win at home over Radford on Thursday night. The men then hit the road to take on No. 20 Maryland, jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, and earned a 1-1 draw in the contest. The Flames play at UCLA on Friday at 10 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL (1-2)

The volleyball team opened the season this past weekend with three games in Richmond in the VCU Tournament. The Lady Flames opened with a 3-0 win over Elon on Friday before dropping a game against the host VCU, 3-1, Friday night. Liberty then fell to High Point, 3-1, on Saturday. This weekend, the Lady Flames will compete in the Liberty Tournament at Liberty Arena for three matches beginning Friday at 6 pm. against Winthrop. On Saturday, the women will face UNC Wilmington at 10 a.m. before a matinee Saturday at 3 p.m. against Murray State.
