The fall sports athletic calendar is underway with several Liberty teams in action. We will provide weekly updates on all of Liberty’s NCAA Division I teams competing this fall.

CROSS COUNTRY

The men’s and women’s cross country team swill get their season underway when competing in the Liberty Challenge Thursday, Sept. 1 with the women’s race beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the men following.

FIELD HOCKEY

Last year’s national runner-up will begin their quest for another Big East Championship and perhaps even a national championship with two games this weekend in Bloomington, Indiana. The Lady Flames open against Kent State on Saturday at noon and then play Indiana on Sunday at noon in a game that will stream on Big Ten Plus.

WOMEN’S SOCCER (1-0-1)

The women’s soccer team were the first to get underway this fall, as they finished in a 0-0 draw on Aug. 18 at Appalachian State. The Lady Flames held their home opener on Sunday, defeating ETSU, 4-0. This week, Liberty is back on the road on Thursday night, taking on UNCG at 5 p.m. before returning home and playing host to Campbell on Sunday at 2p.m.

MEN’S SOCCER

The men’s soccer team begins their season this week with a couple of contests. The Flames host Radford on Thursday night at 7 p.m. before traveling to Maryland for a Sunday night matchup at 7 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL

The women’s volleyball team held an exhibition last week, defeating Elon, 3-2. The regular season begins in earnest this weekend as the Lady Flames will be in Richmond to compete in a tournament at VCU. Liberty is scheduled to play Elon at 2:30 on Friday followed by the host VCU on Friday at 7. To conclude the three-game tournament at VCU, the Lady Flames square off with High Point on Saturday night at 6.
