The fall sports athletic calendar is underway with several Liberty teams in action. We will provide weekly updates on all of Liberty’s NCAA Division I teams competing this fall.

CROSS COUNTRY

In its final tune-up for the ASUN Cross Country Championships, two-time defending conference champion Liberty put seven women inside the top 88 overall at last Saturday’s Weis-Crockett Invitational. The Lady Flames totaled 182 points for fourth place out of 26 squads. On the men’s side, the Flames totaled 307 points for 11th place out of 26.

Sophomore Hope Carr paced a youthful Liberty women’s “B” squad at the Panorama Farms XC 23 Invitational as the Lady Flames took 17th out of 18 squads.

Liberty will travel to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama for the 2022 ASUN Cross Country Championships. The meet will be contested on Oct. 29 with the women’s 5K scheduled for 9 a.m. and the men’s 8K to follow at 9:45 a.m.

FIELD HOCKEY (10-6, 6-0)

Liberty saw its shutout streak of five games to begin conference play come to an end Friday at Providence, but the Lady Flames remained unbeaten with a 3-1 win. Liberty has outscored its Big East Conference opponents by a score of 28-1 this season. This week, Liberty has its regular season finale at Old Dominion on Friday at 1 p.m. The Big East Field Hockey Championships begins on Friday, Nov. 4 with the semifinals

WOMEN’S SOCCER (21-3-3, 8-0-2)

The Lady Flames concluded the regular season on Friday with a 3-0 shutout win over Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Kentucky. Liberty finished the year as the ASUN regular season champions following their unbeaten record. The Lady Flames will host the ASUN Quarterfinals and Semifinals this week, with Liberty facing No. 8 seed Jacksonville on Thursday at 4 p.m. The semifinals are on Sunday at 1 p.m. and the championship is Friday, Nov. 4. All games will be played in Lynchburg provided Liberty advances to the championship.

MEN’S SOCCER (3-5-5, 1-3-2)

Liberty lost to Central Arkansas, 2-1, on Friday evening in Lynchburg. The men will conclude their regular season this week with road trips to North Florida on Friday at 7 p.m. and Queens on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL (15-7, 8-2)

The Lady Flames defeated Stetson, 3-0, and FGCU, 3-1, this past weekend in Florida. This week, Liberty takes on Austin Peay on Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., both contests being played at Liberty Arena.
