Liberty forward Sean Register, Jr. will miss the upcoming 2026-27 due to a knee injury suffered during the off-season. The news was reported by Blue Ribbon and something ASOR has been able to confirm.
Register transferred to the Flames this past summer from the JUCO ranks. He is a 6’7″ forward originally from Cleveland, Ohio who was a freshman at Eastern Florida State College. In 31 games played last season, Register averaged 24.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 66.3% from the field, 40.6% from three (28/69), and 73.8% from the free throw line. He set his program’s record for points in a season and was third in the country at the JUCO level. He was named the Citrus Conference Player of the Year and named to the Division I All-FCSAA Men’s Basketball Team.
Register had offers from Wyoming, Drake, Green Bay, New Mexico State, Louisiana, Florida A&M, Oakland, Bradley, St. Bonaventure, Incarnate Word, and Cleveland State. He helped lead Eastern Florida State to a 23-7 record. Register scored 26 points and 8 rebounds in the quarterfinals of the FCSAA Championships. He was expected to be a key figure in Liberty’s plans this coming season as the Flames must replace all five starters from a season ago.
