Following the conclusion of the fall athletic season, Liberty is currently ranked No. 96 in the country in the Learfield College Directors’ Cup standings, a ranking of the top collegiate athletic departments in the country.

The Flames received points from field hockey and women’s soccer. Liberty won the Big East field hockey championship and advanced to the sweet 16 of the national tournament, receiving 45 points. The Flames gained 25 points in women’s soccer after winning the CUSA championship before losing to Clemson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Being ranked at No. 79, Liberty is tied as the highest ranked Conference USA team, tied with Western Kentucky who received points in football and volleyball. The Flames are ahead of Delaware, Jacksonville State, and Louisiana Tech who are all tied at No. 140. FIU, Kennesaw State, Missouri State, and UTEP are all tied for No. 154.

North Carolina is the national leader following the fall sports. They are followed in the standings by Stanford, Virginia, BYU, ,Notre Dame, Washington, Princeton, Wake Forest, Duke, and Alabama.

Liberty Athletics continues to see its national brand lifted across all sports, as the Flames have posted four top 100 finishes in the past five years in the final College Directors’ Cup standings.
