Coming off a 59-30 win over Delaware, Liberty looks to keep its winning ways going this weekend by playing host to Missouri State. Currently 4-4 on the season and 3-1 in CUSA play, the Flames must win 2 out of its final 4 games to reach bowl eligibility for a seventh straight year.
Several outlets have updated their bowl projections this week and we have assembled those projections for where Liberty is being pegged.
- Athlon: Frisco Bowl vs Marshall (4-4)
- College Football News: Birmingham Bowl vs Utah State (4-4)
- Mark Schlabach (ESPN): 68 Ventures Bowl vs Central Michigan (5-4)
- Kyle Bonagura (ESPN): Not projected to make a bowl game
- Brad Crawford (CBS Sports): First Responder Bowl vs Fresno State (6-3)
- Pro Football Network: Salute to Veterans Bowl vs Coastal Carolina (5-3)
- Sports Illustrated: Cure Bowl vs James Madison (7-1)
- Sports Grid: Bahamas Bowl vs Ball State (3-5)
- USA Today: Gasparilla Bowl vs Tulane (6-2)
The Flames finished the 2024 campaign with an 8-4 record that included a loss to Buffalo in the Bahamas Bowl. It marked a sixth straight appearance in a bowl game. Liberty has now won eight or more games for the 15th season in program history, including six straight years.

I’d take any of those bowls (Marshall, USU, Coastal, etc.)
Btw., there’s chatter around us hypothetically asking Freeze to come back here (https://forums.aseaofred.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=667802). Why in the world would we do that? We are not Auburn. We should not be interested in winning at all costs. I would rather have mediocre (even losing) seasons with Jamey Chadwell as HC than bring that narcissist baggage back to the mountain (https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/hugh-freeze-doomed-from-the-start-at-auburn/)
C’mon guys, do better
