The Liberty Flames are looking to get back to an NCAA Regional this season for the first time since 2022 as we approach the stretch run of this season. Liberty is currently 35-14 overall and 18-6 in CUSA play, currently sitting in second place in the conference standings entering the final two weekend series of the regular season.

The Flames are currently at 27 in RPI, setting the team up for good shape in the at-large field discussion should the team not win the CUSA Tournament. The Flames have a 5-7 record against Quad 1 opponents, 10-5 in Quad 2 games, 9-0 in Quad 3 games, and 11-2 against Quad 4. Liberty continues to be projected into the NCAA Tournament field by most projections this week. CUSA is also pegged to get three teams in the field by many. Let’s take a look at those projections.

The Flames are currently being pegged as a 3-seed in the Athens, Georgia Regional by D1Baseball, hosted by No. 3 overall seed Georgia. Other teams in this projected regional include 2-seed UCF and 4-seed Army.

UCLA is picked as the No. 1 overall seed while the other regional hosts projected by D1Baseball are Georgia Tech (2), Georgia (3), Texas (4), North Carolina (5), Auburn (6), Kansas (7), Texas A&M (8), Coastal Carolina (9), Mississippi State (10), Alabama (11), Florida (12), Florida State (13), Southern Miss (14), Oregon State (15), and Oregon (16).

In Baseball America‘s projected field this week, Liberty is the last No. 2 seed in the field and placed in the Westwood, California regional where No. 1 overall seed UCLA would be the host alongside No. 3 seed Vanderbilt and No. 4 seed Oral Roberts.

In other Regional projections this week, Liberty is being projected into the field by College Sports Madness as a three-seed in the Charlottesville Regional alongside Virginia, LSU, and Brown. On3 Sports currently has Liberty as a three-seed in the Gainesville Regional alongside Florida, Nebraska, and Campbell.

The Flames play this weekend at home against Louisiana Tech for a three-game series starting Friday evening at 6 p.m. as part of the final homestand of the season. The CUSA Tournament begins in Kennesaw, Georgia on May 20.
