Liberty has picked up a commitment from Alvin Williams, a Junior College defensive end/linebacker prospect.

Williams currently attends East Mississippi Community College, committing to Liberty after a weekend visit. He has offers from a number of schools including Charlotte, UConn, Marshall, Kennesaw State, Texas State, Troy, UAB, and others. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

This past season, in 13 games played, Williams recorded 39 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He is likely to play the JOKER position for the Flames as a pass rushing defensive end that can also play outside linebacker in certain packages.

The 6’4″, 235 pound Williams began his college career at Colorado where he redshirted in 2020 and played in the final six games of the 2021 season with three tackles and a pass deflection.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Williams attended Cedar Grove High School. As a three-star recruit out of high school, he had a number of offers including Colorado, Baylor, Wake Forest, Michigan State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Kentucky. He was also recruited and offered by Liberty’s current coaching staff from when they were at Coastal Carolina. He wrapped up an impressive high school career as a major contributor to Cedar Grove’s state championship with 104 tackles, 14.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss before committing to CU.

Williams adds to a growling list of 2024 commits for Liberty who can sign beginning as early as this coming Wednesday.
