Liberty has added a commitment from North Carolina transfer offensive lineman DJ Geth. Geth redshirted this past season as a true freshman at UNC and he has four years of eligibility remaining.

Geth is a 6’3″, 305 pound offensive lineman originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina where he played for Dorman High School. He was a three-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s 53rd best guard by ESPN in his recruiting class. He blocked for an offense that averaged 260.3 rushing yards per game.

Since entering the portal, he has picked up offers from Memphis, Jacksonville State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, South Alabama, and others. His dad, Ed Geth, played basketball at North Carolina and was a member of the Tar Heels’ 1993 national title team.

Geth will be able to add depth for the Flames at the offensive line. He will also be able to compete for significant playing time and perhaps even be a starter on the interior of the line in the wake of Chase Mitchell’s decision to enter the transfer portal.
