The Liberty Lady Flames got back in the win column with a win over Sam Houston Saturday afternoon, leading throughout the contest, to improve to 12-14 overall and 7-4 in CUSA play. Here’s a recap from the last week as well as a look at this week’s schedule:
W, 86-56 vs Sam Houston, Feb. 17
Liberty posts Bella Smuda and Jordan Bailey combined for 27 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Their efforts helped the lady Flames control the paint during a comfortable win over Sam Houston at Liberty Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Bearkats shot just 27.3% for the contest and have not won a game outside of Texas this season. The third-place Lady Flames controlled the glass, 50-27, points in the paint, 46-16, and second chance points, 26-7. The win marked Liberty’s fifth consecutive home win and helped secure a season sweep of the Bearkats.
