Hero Sports has released their game by game projections for Liberty’s 2020 football season, and despite taking shots at the Flames’ strength of schedule, they have Liberty winning 7 games to become bowl eligible for a second straight season.

The projection has the Flames defeating North Carolina A&T, FIU, Bowling Green (despite saying “loss” it is counted towards the win total), UL Monroe, UConn, Western Carolina, and UMass. Projected losses are Virginia Tech, Western Kentucky, Syracuse, Southern Miss, and NC State giving the Flames a 7-5 record.

This would make the Flames eligible for a bowl game for a second straight season. Liberty announced last year that it had agreements through ESPN with several bowl games beginning in 2020 including the Boca Raton Bowl, Camellia Bowl, Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Frisco Bowl, Myrtle Beach Bowl and New Mexico Bowl.

ASOR had early 2020 season projections following the conclusion of the 2019 campaign with the Flames pegged at 8-4.
