Liberty’s 2024 baseball season has come to an end, and the 2024 MLB Draft is scheduled for mid-July. It is expected that the Flames could add additional names to major league organizations at that time and they will join the growing list of former Flames currently with MLB organizations.
Here’s an update on the former Flames who are currently with MLB clubs:
Will Wagner – AAA
Wagner was taken in the 18th round of the 2021 draft by the Houston Astros. He has spent the entire 2024 season so far with the Astros’ AAA club, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. In 47 games played, Wagner has a .303 batting average with 2 home runs and 23 RBI.
Fraser Ellard – AAA
After a standout season with Liberty, Ellard was taken in the 8th round of the 2021 draft by the Chicago White Sox. He is in AAA this season with the Charlotte Knights where he has made 23 relief appearances. Ellard is 1-2 with a 4.38 ERA while striking out 35 and walking 16 in 24.2 innings pitched.
Mason Fluharty – AAA
Fluharty was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2022 in the 5th round. He was promoted to AAA and the Buffalo Bisons to begin the 2024 season where he has 23 appearances. Fluharty has a 4-1 record and 2.86 ERA. He has struck out 28 and walked 14 in 28.1 innings pitched.
Noah Skirrow – AA
Skirrow began the 2022 season in the Philadelphia Phillies organization with their Double-A affiliate the Reading Fightin Phils. Last year, Skirrow was with the Phillies’ AAA team, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. This year, he has been with their AA club, the Reading Fightin Phils where he has made 9 appearances with 8 starts. Skirrow is 2-3 with a 6.69 ERA in 35 innings pitched.
Max Alba – A+
Alba signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Tigers. He’s currently with their A+ club the West Michigan Whitecaps. This season he has made 18 appearances with 1 start. Alba has posted a 2-2 record with a 4.13 ERA over 28.1 innings.
Dylan Cumming – A+
Cumming went undrafted and signed with the Giants as a free agent following the 2022 college season. Pitching with the Eugene Emeralds in A+ ball, Cumming is 3-0 this season with a 1.87 ERA in 9 appearances with 7 starts. He has 50 strikeouts and 10 walks in 33.2 innings pitched.
Joe Adametz – A
After being drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, Adametz is currently in A-ball with the Tigers’ Lakeland Flying Tigers. This season, Adametz has 10 appearances and 8 starts. He has a 3-0 record with a 2.23 ERA. Adametz has struck out 33 and walked 13 in 40.1 innings pitched.
Mikey Tepper – A
After being drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 15th round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Tepper is with their A club, the Fredericksburg Nationals. So far this season, he has made 6 relief appearances with a 2.04 ERA while striking out 22 and walking 10 in 17.2 innings pitched.
Trey Gibson – A
Gibson is in the Baltimore Orioles’ organization, pitching for their A team, the Delmarva Shorebirds. In 11 appearances and 6 starts, Gibson is 0-4 with a 3.68 ERA. He has struck out 56 and walked 15 in 36.2 innings pitched.
