Former Coastal Carolina wide receiver/running back Aaron Bedgood has been added to Liberty’s 2023 roster.

Bedgood has one year of eligibility after spending the rest of his career with Coastal Carolina under current Liberty head coach Jamey Chadwell. Bedgood graduated in December 2022 and had entered the workforce since graduating, but he will now put those aspirations on hold as he will return to the football field for one final season.

Originally from Richmond Hills, Georgia, Bedgood was a team captain for the Chanticleers in 2022. The 5’8″, 180 pound receiver had 8 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown in 5 games played in 2022, missing some time due to a lower body injury. In 13 games played in 2021, Bedgood had 5 receptions for 69 yards and 2 touchdowns. He hauled in a 40 yard touchdown catch in the 2021 Cure Bowl game against Northern Illinois.

The 5’8″, 180 pound Bedgood should be expected to compete for playing time in the slot for the Flames this fall. He can help offset the loss of Reese Smith and Victor Jones who have been lost for the 2023 season due to knee injuries suffered during the summer, Coach Chadwell announced Wednesday.
