With National Signing Day right around the corner (February 5th, to be exact), here’s an update on where the Flames stand with their 2015 class.

Verbals

S Cameron Jones

The Flames first commitment of the 2015 class came from Jones back on July 12th. The local product is expected to begin his career at safety.

ATH Jaylyn McKinney

The 6’1″, 215 pound prospect from Lakeland, Florida committed to Coach Gill and staff on December 12th. He had reported offers from Mississippi State, FIU, and Iowa State. McKinney will play defense at Liberty, likely either linebacker or safety.

TE Zac Foutz
Zac Foutz

Foutz was named 1st team all-state at tight end

Foutz has been rated by Roanoke.com as the #42 prospect in the state of Virginia. He committed to the Flames on October 25th while visiting campus during Liberty’s game with Gardner-Webb.

OL Ernst Anderson

A bit of an unknown, Anderson committed to Liberty on November 12th. The 6’6″, 300 pound offensive lineman hails from Norway and also had an offer from Eastern Illinois.

DE Juwan Wells

Wells visited campus during the Monmouth game and committed on November 20th. He has several other reported offers including Old Dominion, South Alabama, and Troy.

Pending Offers

Daniels scored 25 touchdowns during his senior season

ATH Denvre Daniels

Daniels is a 3 star prospect from Cedar Hill, Texas. He has reported offers from Colorado State and New Mexico State. He is being recruited by Liberty as a running back or wide receiver. The Flames were #1 on his list in late October. He finished his senior season with 1,170 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns and 593 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. Daniels tweeted last month that he was expecting to make his decision in January. Daniels is visiting Liberty the weekend of January 16th.

ATH Michael Holmes

Holmes has 18 offers including Kentucky, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Charlotte, UMass, Boston College, and Ohio. In August, he told Scout that Georgia State, Kentucky, and ODU were his top 3. Even still, he says he is still considering Liberty. He projects as a tight end or linebacker.

King has several FBS offers

WR Damian King

King is a 3-star prospect from Indian Rocks Christian School in Largo, Florida. Indian Rocks lost to Victory Christian (Jaylyn McKinney’s school) in the 2A state championship game in December. King has several FBS offers including West Virginia, Missouri, and Kansas State.

OL Dontae Duff

The Flames just offered Duff after Christmas. He also has offers from Jackson State and Grabling State. His teammate, Malik Jefferson, is the top prospect out of the state of Texas.

OL Miles Pate

Pate is a 2-star prospect with numerous offers including Memphis, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, and Georgia State.

OL Matthew Pittarelli

His lone reported offer is Liberty and he is scheduled to take an official visit the weekend of January 23rd.

DE Cody Banks

Banks is a 3-star prospect who has offers from East Carolina, Marshall, Maryland, NC State, and Old Dominion.

DT Jaleel Carter

Carter is a big defensive tackle from Houston, Texas. He is a 3-star prospect with offers from Air Force and Northwestern State. Based on a few tweets from him earlier this week, it sounds like he is planning a visit to Air Force sometime next week.

DT Darrell Henderson

Henderson’s lone offer is from Liberty. The 6’1″, 300 pound defensive tackle from Jacksonville is “highly considering Liberty right now.”

Liberty is in Kithcart’s top 5

DL Dorian Kithcart

Kithcart released his top 5 which includes Liberty, William & Mary, Kent State, Mercer and Kennesaw State. He is scheduled to visit Liberty January 23rd through 25th.

LB Jasais Bonaparte

Bonaparte has offers from Western Michigan and Liberty. He has been described as a “rangy athlete with good speed and long arms.”

DB Nate Dalton

Dalton’s recruitment has blown up since our last update on him (November). The top prospect from Houston, Texas now has offers from several FBS schools including Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Arkansas. It seems unlikely the Flames will be able to land him even after he visited campus back in November.

DB Roe Farris, Jr

Farris has offers from Liberty and Duquesne. Unless something changes, I would be surprised if he doesn’t commit and sign with the Flames.

DB Deontae Henderson

Henderson has reported offers from Campbell, Cornell and Liberty. He attends Providence Day in Charlotte, North Carolina.

DB Khylil James

In addition to his offer from Liberty, James also has offers from James Madison and Old Dominion. He attends Meadowbrook High School in Richmond, Virginia.

DB Anthony Johnson

The defensive back from Cibolo, Texas only has the one reported offer from Liberty. He recorded 41 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception and 4 pass deflections during his senior season. His high school, Cibolo Steele lost to Katy High School in the state semifinals. Liberty is high on his list and I would not be shocked if he commits to Coach Gill and company.

DB Shelton Lewis

I’m not sure if Lewis is still considering Liberty. The 3-star prospect from Orlando has numerous FBS offers. He committed to Purdue back in September, but has since de-committed. He’s taken or is scheduled to take visits this month to Cincinnati, South Florida, and Florida Atlantic.

Jeremy Peters at Georgia Tech in July

DB Jeremy Peters

The prospect from Green Cove Springs, Florida, has offers from Kent State, Liberty, Akron, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State. He lists Liberty as one of his top schools and is expected to visit on January 17th.

DB Damon Smith

Smith finished his senior season with 21 tackles and 9 pass deflections. The 6’2″ defensive back’s only reported offer is from Liberty. Smith is from Homestead, Florida.

S Lewis Cousins III

Cousins reportedly has offers from Liberty, Troy, and Mercer. According to 247Sports, he originally committed to Troy before de-committing. Rivals and 247Sports both rate him as a 2 star prospect. He picked up an offer from Wingate University on Tuesday.

S Denzel Johnson

Johnson has offers from Liberty, Towson, Georgia Southern, Clemson, Appalachian State, and South Carolina State. He visited Liberty in November, and Coach Wimberly visited him January 5th. He was named offensive MVP in an All-Star game where he finished with 3 catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Johnson will also visit NC State on January 30th.

S Marvin Tillman

Tillman has offers from Liberty, Elon, Presbyterian, and Western Carolina. He is a 3 star rated prospect according to Rivals. Update: Tillman committed to Western Carolina 1/7.
