gillIf you’re like me, you’re having a difficult time keeping up with football recruiting based on the flurry of activity and commitments the past week. Here’s a quick update on where the Flames stand with the Class of 2016.

5 commitments in past week

OL Damian Bounds, Jr

Bounds was the first to commit last week, setting off a chain reaction of 5 commitments in rapid succession. The Stockbridge, Georgia prospect is one of four offensive lineman to commit to Liberty this summer.

OL Aidan Burroughs

Burroughs is a 6’4″, 275-pound prospect from Nebraska who also had interest from Montana and lower level FBS programs in the Midwest.

OL Daniel Zapata

Zapata chose Liberty over offers from Air Force, Army, Colgate, Robert Morris, and Monmouth. The 6’3″, 275-pound lineman hails from Paramus, New Jersey.

K Alex Probert

Probert committed to Liberty on Saturday. He also had an offer from Army, and will look to compete for the starting kicker spot in 2016 as John Lunsford graduates.

1 unknown

One other commitment came in on Friday which has not yet surfaced. Based off tweets from the coaching staff, this mystery recruit is a quarterback from Miami. That description fits Stephen Calvert, who the Flames offered in May. I wouldn’t be shocked if Calvert’s commitment to Liberty becomes public news in the next week or so.

4 previous commitments

QB Rudiger Yearick

Yearick committed to Liberty in early June over offers from Cornell, Harvard, and Yale.

OL Ethan Crawford

Crawford was Liberty’s first commitment on June 2nd. The 6’5″, 315-pound lineman had offers from East Tennessee State, Charleston Southern, and Robert Morris.

S Jalen Camp

Camp committed after visiting Liberty in June. He also had an offer from Illinois State.

S Brandon Tillmon

Tillmon will begin his career at safety, and also expects to play baseball while at Liberty. He chose the Flames over an offer from Furman.
