The Flames have signed Ray Chen, the school announced today. He is a 6-1 combo guard from Taiwan, and spent the past 3 seasons playing for Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina.

Belmont Abbey is a Division II school which competes in the Conference Carolinas. Chen led the Crusaders in scoring and assists as he averaged 16 points and 3.5 assists per game last season. He shot 48% from the field, 36% from 3, and 78% from the free throw line in his final season at Belmont Abbey. He graduated from Belmont Abbey in May and will have his final season of eligibility in 2016-17 at Liberty.

Chen moved from Taiwan prior to his senior year of high school where he attended Gaston Day in Gaston, North Carolina.
