Liberty has picked up a commitment from East Carolina transfer linebacker Teylor Jackson.

The commitment comes after a recent visit to Liberty for Jackson. Jackson is a 6’1″, 212 pound linebacker who started all 12 games for the Pirates at Mike linebacker where he made 52 total tackles, 1 sack, 4 pass break ups, 3 QB hurries, and a forced fumble. He has one year of eligibility remaining. From 2020-2022, Jackson played in 29 games at East Carolina.

Since entering the portal on Dec. 4, Jackson has received offers from a number of schools including Arizona State, UCF, Temple, Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, UTSA, and Georgia Southern. Originally from Washington, DC where he attended National Christian Academy, Jackson had a number of offers out of high school including Boston College, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Pitt, and West Virginia before committing to East Carolina.

Jackson will be counted on by the Flames to help offset the loss of CUSA Defensive Player of the Year Tyren Dupree at linebacker.
