Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall entered the transfer portal on Monday after spending three seasons as as tarter for the Chanticleers. He has two years of eligibility left, and could he look to spend those final two seasons at Liberty after following his head coach Jamey Chadwell to Lynchburg?

McCall and Chadwell became one of the most dynamic quarterback-coach combos in the entire country over the past three seasons. McCall threw for 78 touchdowns to only 8 interceptions while completing over 70% of his passes for the Chanticleers. He also added 16 rushing touchdowns.

McCall and Chadwell led Coastal to two 11-win seasons and a nine-win regular season this year. The three-time Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year says he intends to play in the Birmingham Bowl for Coastal against East Carolina on Dec. 27.

After Chadwell was named Liberty’s head coach, the Chanticleers turned to NC State offensive coordinator Tim Beck as their next head coach. McCall passed for 2,633 yards and 24 touchdowns with just two interceptions this season. He will certainly be heavily pursued in the portal, even by Power Five schools as was his former head coach Chadwell. Will McCall turn down those pursuits to follow his former coach to Liberty?
