Former Liberty guard Caleb Homesley is currently playing in the G League for the Erie BayHawks after being signed and then released by the Washington Wizards. Homesley and the BayHawks have been in Orlando competing in the bubble for the past two weeks and they have raced out to an 8-1 record, currently in first place with the top record in the G League.

The 6’6″ Homesley is currently averaging 22.8 minutes, 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game through the team’s first 8 games. He is shooting 35.3% from the field and 28.9% from three-point range. Homesley started the first three games for Erie and was re-inserted into the starting lineup the past two games.

Homesley had his top scoring and shooting performance on Feb. 17 against the G League Ignite. In 29 minutes, he scored 16 points as he made 6 of 11 field goals and 4 of 7 from three to go along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, his best performance of his professional career so far.

On Thursday against the Lakeland Magic, Homesley played 21 minutes finishing with 2 points on 1 of 6 shooting and 0 for 3 from three. He added 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

Homesley played 16 minutes on Saturday against the Memphis Hustle, scoring 2 points as he was 1 of 6 from the field and 0 for 4 from three to go along with 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.

In his return to the starting lineup on Monday against the Delaware Blue Coats, Homesley scored 9 points on 4 of 9 shooting and 1 of 3 from three point range in 29 minutes. He also added 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block.

Erie won their sixth straight game on Tuesday night with a win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. In the game, his second straight back in the starting lineup, Homesley played 24 minutes finishing with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. He was 2 of 6 from the field and 1 of 4 from three.

Homesley and the BayHawks continue their whirlwind schedule on Thursday at 11 a.m. against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a game that will be televised on ESPN+. Erie also has games this week on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday.
