Liberty has picked up a commitment from BYU transfer tight end Bentley Hanshaw. He will join Liberty’s 2022 recruiting class that features two other tight ends in Minnesota transfer Austin Henderson and high school senior Teigan Martin.

Hanshaw, who will have three years of eligibility remaining, is a 6’5″, 245 pound tight end from Moorpark, California where he attended Moorpark High School. He was a three-star prospect out of high school and also had offers from Oregon State, Air Force, Cal, Utah, and Utah State. He entered the transfer portal in early December.

Hanshaw has appeared in one game during his BYU career, during the 2020 season against Louisiana Tech. His father, Tim Hanshaw, played offensive line for BYU in the early 1990s before playing in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers from 1995-1998.
