WHAT TO WATCH
– Day one in Regional play is always important. The winner moves on to the winner’s bracket and won’t have to play again until Saturday evening. The loser however, falls into the loser’s bracket, will play in the early game on Saturday, and will have to win four straight games to advance to Super Regionals.
– Boston College is coming off its greatest regular season in program history after totaling a program-record 17 wins in ACC play with 36 wins overall, tied for the second-most in a single season in program history.
– The Eagles have lost four straight after being swept by Georgia Tech at home to conclude the regular season before losing to Miami in the ACC Tournament this past Thursday.
– Boston College might not have the power at the plate that many other teams do, but they could test the Flames on the base paths. The Eagles rank 14th in the nation in stolen bases with 139.
– Julio Solier is the plate setter for the Eagles. He leads the team in batting average, steals, and is among the national leaders in triples.
QUOTE FROM LIBERTY HEAD COACH BRADLEY LECROY
“We’ve got a good team. We’re going to play an ACC team, Boston College, who finished 4th in the ACC, but we played 9 games against the ACC this year. It’s just another game for us.”
