The ASUN has altered its men’s basketball tiebreaker procedures for the 2020 ASUN Tournament.

The first tiebreaker remains head-to-head results among teams involved in the tie. The second tiebreaker is now NCAA NET ranking available on the day following the conclusion of ASUN regular season play.

In seasons prior, the second tiebreaker was a comparison of head-to-head records of the teams in the standings starting at the top and working towards the bottom of the standings until a tie was broken.

For Liberty, this is a welcome change as the Flames rank significantly higher than every ASUN team in the NET rankings. The Flames are currently ranked No. 56 while North Florida is the second highest rated ASUN team at No. 164.

That makes this week even more critical for Liberty, as the Flames only team conference losses are to North Florida and Stetson, who visit the Vines Center this week. Wins in both would put Liberty alone in first place entering the final week of the regular season as well as give the Flames the tiebreaker over every ASUN team.

A regular season title and first place finish in the ASUN earns home court advantage throughout the tournament. Here are the current standings for the top 3 teams in the league:
