With the fall sports season right around the corner, we here at A Sea of Red are looking to add a talented member to our passionate workforce. ASOR is searching to hire a sports writer intern (paid) for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate would be a current student at Liberty University who does not graduate until at least May 2026. This position will primarily focus on women’s basketball and baseball while also assisting to cover other Liberty sports.
Over the years, ASOR has seen several of our interns go on to acquire full-time jobs in the world of sports, and you could be next!
With that in mind, in an effort to expand our reach even further and to continue to increase our coverage of Liberty Athletics, we’re looking for someone who can help us cover the Flames this coming school year. A background in sports is not required for this position. This person should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to appropriately communicate the message and continue to build ASOR’s brand.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work under a deadline
- Researching and writing stories, could be as many as 3-4 in a given week during the athletic season
- Covering games and press conferences on site, on campus at Liberty
- Be aware of major storylines surrounding popular players, coaches, and teams, and use that knowledge to produce intriguing content quickly
- Use existing knowledge and research abilities to produce quality assigned content and generate your content ideas
