As first reported by Football Scoop, Liberty has promoted Aaron Fierbaugh to an on field assistant as the team’s safeties coach.

Fierbaugh replaces Jack Curtis who was Liberty’s safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator, as only reported by ASOR. Curtis left the program following the spring practice period after initially remaining with new head coach Jamey Chadwell.

Fierbaugh came to Liberty as Senior Defensive Quality Control after Chadwell was hired in December. Most recently, Fierbaugh was at Coastal Carolina where he was the team’s inside linebackers coach for the 2022 season. In 2021 he was a defensive analyst for the Chanticleers.

Prior to joining the Coastal Carolina staff in May 2021, Fierbaugh was a defensive quality control assistant at South Carolina from 2016-21. Prior to his time with the Gamecocks, Fierbaugh was a student assistant at Auburn from 2013-16. During his time with the Tigers, Auburn played in the 2014 BCS National Championship game and made the 2015 Outback Bowl and the 2015 Birmingham Bowl.
