Fresh off the first official visit weekend of the summer, Liberty has picked up a commitment from 2027 linebacker prospect Levi Champion.
The Flames have been aggressively pursuing Champion for some time now. He is a 5’11”, 200 pound prospect from The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida. Champion will be transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas for his senior year of high school and hoping to led them to their 8th consecutive FHSAA State title. Over the past two seasons, he had 358 tackles, 63 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 22 pass breakups and 5 forced fumbles.
His offer list is extensive with over 20 offers and includes Boston College, East Carolina, Georgia State, Air Force, Army, Navy, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Kennesaw State, Middle Tennessee, Tulane, Western Kentucky, and others.
He was the 2025 Palm Beach County Player of the Year, 2025 Sun Sentinel Defensive Player of the Year, 2025 Lou Groza Player of the Year, and 2026 Rivals (Miami Camp) Linebacker Camp MVP. Champion led all of Florida in tackles during his junior season. Champion is also a wrestler in high school, winning two district titles and two regional titles while finishing in fourth place in the state. He has taken multiple visits to campus in Lynchburg already and the Flames’ coaching staff has made repeated stops to see him in Florida.
Champion is the second commitment in the Class of 2027 for the Flames, joining three-star WR Chris Butler, Jr.
