Peterson has received interest from Liberty, Charleston Southern, Western Carolina, Stetson, Jacksonville, and Troy. One recruiting recap said “Devin has a nice feel for the game as he does a great job of directing traffic and placing his teammates in position. Devin, has a solid and developing mid-range game and has range on his jump shot to 20 feet.” Following this past season, Peterson was named second team All-Region after averaging 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.2 assists for the year.
