With the conclusion of Liberty’s baseball and track & field seasons, the 2012-13 athletic season is officially over. And what a season it was.

Liberty won championships in women’s basketball, volleyball, football, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s indoor track & field, men’s basketball, men’s outdoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field, and baseball. That is 10 conference championships which is good for 2nd in most in the country behind only Princeton. The Flames also competed in NCAA regional play as an at-large in men’s golf.

South Dakota St. and Liberty were the only schools this year to win a conference tournament title in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball. Further, there were only 5 schools to make it to the NCAA tournament in men’s & women’s basketball, volleyball, and golf: Liberty, Wichita State, Oklahoma, UCLA, and North Carolina.

To top it off, the Flames won the Big South’s Sasser Cup for the 6th consecutive season and 11th time in program history.
